Finisher Usefulness

Finisher elemental effects, TTK (time to kill), and usage while holding relics

This is a recap of information from over a year ago, but there are several situations where finisher elements can be useful. Knowing about Diamond Lance generation with Stasis finishers and buff extension with Solar finishers can give you a slight advantage.


Finisher TTK (Time to Kill)

Finisher TTK (time until the killing blow lands, not the entire animation duration):

Fastest:

  • Sure Shot: Hunter-exclusive Golden Gun quick draw

Second fastest:

  • Gladiator’s Blade: All-class machete cross slash

These are known as the fastest finishers.

When generating heavy ammo with Aeon Insight, teammates may steal kills during your finisher animation. Using a finisher with shorter TTK helps prevent this.


Finishers While Holding Relics

Finishers can be used while holding relics or tangles in most cases. This is useful to remember.

Where the relic goes while performing the finisher is a mystery though…

Usable Scenarios

  • Holding beam relic during Vow of the Disciple 3rd encounter
  • During “Deathsinger’s Power” in King’s Fall (weapons and abilities disabled, but finisher works)
  • Holding boss encounter relics in Battlegrounds
  • While holding tangles

Finisher Elements

Finishers have elemental properties that interact with certain fragments and buffs.

How to Identify Element

  1. Finishers that look like subclass abilities → Always that element regardless of equipped subclass
  2. Finishers without obvious element (default, etc.) → Takes the element of your equipped subclass
